Whitening

Have you ever wished that you had whiter teeth? Here at Wyndham Dental Solutions we offer different options for you to try, either at home or in-chair treatments at our dental clinic. Teeth whitening is extremely popular and is safely completed with our techniques. Our most popular method is with custom made trays, which you take home along with whitening gel. The gel is then applied to the trays and placed in the mouth, and within a couple of weeks of doing this for 1 hour a day, you should notice an improvement. We will give you proper instructions on how to use the whitening gels and trays at home, and answer all of your questions. If you are in a rush and looking for a quicker result, you can choose in-chair whitening. Generally there are not many issues that can arise from teeth whitening, however sometimes it can temporarily cause teeth sensitivity – don`t worry, we will be here to help you if this is the case!

The results from teeth whitening vary from person to person and so does the duration of these results. If you smoke or if you consume a lot of tea, coffee or wine, you might need to have your whitening done a bit more frequently. Want to find out more about our teeth whitening treatments? Veneers

Dental veneers consist of a thin layer of composite-resin or tooth-coloured porcelain, which is fitted to the visible surface of your teeth. To place the veneer over your teeth we have to prepare them to receive it, and because that preparation includes some tooth enamel, we try to keep it as minimal as possible. Veneers can be the treatment of choice for people who dislike the appearance of their front teeth, generally because they are stained or discoloured. They can also be chosen when the patient is interested in closing gaps between their front teeth, or when they want to change their size or shape.

Composite-resin veneers are made by in-chair, and they normally only require one visit. The process of making porcelain veneers usually takes longer, because we would use the help of a Ceramist Dental Laboratory to design your veneer. We always choose excellent local Dental Labs to do these jobs, and they select the highest-quality porcelain materials available for their work.

The choice between porcelain and composite depends on a few different factors. For that reason, if you are interested in learning more about veneers, the best thing for you to do would be to schedule an appointment with us. From there, you can discuss and assess the best option for your case.

Dental Crowns

A dental crown is like a protective helmet that fits over an existing tooth. They are most commonly required when a tooth has been severely damaged due to trauma, decay or tooth wear. They may also be required on a tooth that has undergone Root Canal Treatment. In these cases, the tooth is weakened and a filling won`t be enough to protect it from further damage. A crown protects the underlying tooth, returning it to its normal function.

Crowns can be made from different materials, with the choice of material generally depending on the location of your tooth, as well as a range of other criteria. Tooth coloured crowns blend in looking just like one of your natural teeth. At Wyndham Dental Solutions, we have the technology to make your porcelain crown here at our clinic, so that on the very same day and with one appointment only, you walk out with a new tooth! Occasionally, we will still be required to use the help of a Dental Technician. In that case, your crown will need a few more visits before it is ready to be placed. To find out if a crown may be suitable for you, contact our friendly staff and book yourself a visit.

Dental Bridges

If you have a missing tooth and you would like a replacement to fill the gap, a dental bridge may be the solution for you. A missing tooth can make it difficult for you to chew, and have a negative impact on your appearance. Filling the space with a bridge will increase your confidence, and the addition of a new tooth will help your other ones withstand the impact of chewing. A bridge is when the teeth adjacent to the gap are used as anchors to support the false tooth. If you have lost more than one tooth in a row, you can also have a bridge to replace a higher number of teeth. Depending on the location of your gap (whether it is a front or a back tooth missing), different types of bridges can be chosen to suit your circumstances. If you do have a gap and would like to hear more about your options, book an appointment with us.

Dental Implants

While there are many other procedures available, our quality dental implants can be the best solution for missing or problematic teeth. You won’t be able to distinguish an implant from your natural teeth, and it is also quite a durable fix, giving way to restored confidence in your smile! An implant is designed to replace and imitate the root of a tooth. This is usually made out of titanium and resembles that of a tiny screw. The titanium implant is surgically placed on to your jaw and left for 2 to 6 months to allow the implant to fuse to the bone. Recovery time is usually dependant on the severity of your individual case!

Another great advantage of dental implants is that they just need routine oral hygiene and no special after-care in terms of maintenance. Simply brush, floss and attend your routine checkups at the dentist, and your implant will be capable of lasting up to twenty years! Contact our team at Wyndham Dental and we’ll outline your suitability for implants and the best procedure to follow.
